New Club Manager - Danny Welsh

We are delighted to introduce to members, our new Club Manager, Danny Welsh.

Danny will take up his position towards the end of 2016 from existing Club Manager/Secretary, Graham Tennant who has been in the post since 2003.

Speaking about his appointment, Danny said “I am delighted to be taking up this new role at East Ren. I have been involved in golf either as a Club Professional or as Club Manager all my adult working life and see this as a great opportunity for me to develop my skills and experience”.

Chair of the Board of Management of The East Renfrewshire Golf Club, Gordon Young said “We are very pleased with our appointment of Danny to this key role in the golf club. The Club has ambitious plans to develop the course and clubhouse and Danny’s experience in this regard was pivotal in him being chosen as our preferred candidate”.

Danny has been involved in the golf industry for over 20 years now. As a Qualified PGA (AA) Professional he started his career as a Teaching Professional. In 2005 he made the move in to Club Management and has been General Manager at Windyhill Golf Club in Bearsden and more recently Torrance Park Golf Club in North Lanarkshire.

In his most recent role, as well as running all aspects of the golf operations, Danny was also involved in the development of a brand new clubhouse facility. Danny continues to improve his knowledge and as well as being educated to degree level, he has completed the PGA Director of Golf Qualification and more recently completed a Diploma in the Golf Management Programme run through Scottish Golf.

East Renfrewshire is a Golf Club that he used to love playing as a junior and is now very excited to have the chance to bring his skills and enthusiasm to this exciting opportunity.
